Ampichino is not technically from the Bay, but he spends a lot of time in the area collaborating with Bay Area artists and I'm pretty sure there aren't too many Akron, OH rap music blogs out there, so I don't think I'm overstepping my bounds covering him.

This mixtape/album came out in '08, but to be honest I didn't hear it until a couple of months ago, but it's quickly becoming one of my favorites. I've always liked Ampichino and the Devilz Rejectz album he did with The Jacka a few years ago was easily one of my favorite albums of that year. Now that I think about it, The Jacka has really put on a lot of fresh talent in his career. I don't know what took me so long, but I finally decided to check out some of Ampichino's solo stuff, which was a good move on my part because this album is great. I like Ampichino's raps a lot and appreciate him tackling the darker side of the street life in his songs.
After a sample from that movie Misery, Ampichino comes in with raps about his mother giving birth to him, which normally would be an extremely lame/gross thing to rap about, but he pulls it off, painting a scene straight out of a horror movie before switching over to talking about the misery of drug addiction and poverty.
I heard this song last year from one of Fed-X's mixtapes, which always just have songs he was featured on from other artist's albums, so I should have figured he got it from some other project. This song is hella catchy and I like how Ampichino says "Inside I'm yelling for help," as you hear him doing exactly that in the background.

I feel like if you have really crooked teeth you shouldn't draw attention to them with a grill
A real catchy club track, this song is in my head way more often than I'd like to admit. I wish the no-name R&B singer didn't do the 3rd verse though.
I'm not really that into songs about weedpot because I don't smoke, but this song is pretty great. His delivery in the second verse where he is rapping about cooking up crack is so hardbody it's ridiculous.
I really like the dark atmosphere of this one. Amp talking about trying to explain himself to God while cooking up drugs. That's some serious subject matter right there.
I'm not too positive about this, but I think Devilz Rejectz 2 is coming out sometime this year and if it's anything like Jacka and Amp's solo music as well as the first Devilz Rejectz then I will be all over it.
