Devilz Rejectz 2: House of the Dead is great. It actually feels like a cohesive album, which is something 95% of rap albums can't say. It's been out a little less than a month and I'm still listening to it constantly. It not only has two of my favorite active rappers on it, The Jacka and Ampichino, but a nearly flawless list of features, with tons of great rappers from the Bay and the Midwest.
I still think part 1 might be the better album, but it's pretty close. These two songs have slowly emerged as my favorites off the album:This song is a nice change of pace on the album from the mostly slow and melancholy songs. Hands-down the hardest song on the disc, but leaves me with some lingering questions:
a.) When did Lee Majors become a great rapper? His verse is so raw on this song, ending with "my cream got the dope fiends doin' the Richard Pryor."
b.) Has anyone ever been to Akron, OH? Ampichino's raps make it sound like a 3rd world ghetto, which is crazy because...it's Ohio.
Regardless this song is amazing.
The Jacka & Ampichino ft. Rich the Factor, Boi Big and Fed-X "Pain"
First of all look at the rappers on this song. If that list doesn't get you excited then we have very different tastes in music or you are unfamiliar with some of the best active artists in the game.
Boi Big's layered voice in the chorus is dripping with emotion as he croons his way through the song. This is sad raps at its best. Mob Figaz songs about the rain FTW forever. Also The Jacka starts his verse with "knock your face off your face," so there's that.

"dopeman like when cube was the ghostwriter"
ReplyDeletelee majors might have the best verse on the album. i love how he paints a vivid picture of being a d-boy chronologically through the 80s.
lee majors has been a great rapper at least since gobots 2, but ive never listened to any non figaz related music of his. "hit the reefer just to ease the paaaaaaaaaiiiin" makes me cry
Haha yeah man. Lee Majors has been making music with The Jacka and some of the other Mob Figaz for a few years now and honestly I used to hate on him pretty hard because his earlier raps were real rough...but he's been pretty great lately.
