Mix #38: Rich the Factor & Ampichino - Midwest Whales

Please appreciate this album cover that I made just now for this post

A few years ago Ampichino announced that he and Rich the Factor had a duo album "coming soon" titled Midwest Whales. I was ecstatic to hear this news: two of my favorite rappers were going to do an album together! Not only are they two of the best rappers out right now, but their styles seem to blend together quite well and the songs that they have done together so far have been great.
Well here we are in 2013 and there is no sign of this project coming out. I'm starting to doubt that it will ever drop now, unfortunately.

According to google maps, the distance between Akron, OH and Kansas City, MO is ~12 hours, so I suppose it's understandable why these two aren't knocking out a couple tracks together every weekend. But still if Ampichino can do a couple albums with The Jacka here in the Bay Area I don't see why this can't happen.

If I lived in Akron or KC I would personally chauffeur one of the rappers to the other's location every weekend

In lieu of an original duo album from Ampichino and Rich the Factor, here is a collection of all the songs they have done together thus far. It's only 8 songs/38 minutes, but honestly all rap albums should be under 45 minutes anyways. If the actual Midwest Whales never comes out then this can just be the album.

Tracklisting:

1.) Rich the Factor ft. Ampichino, Shoboat & Boy Big "So Much"
2.) Rich the Factor ft. Ampichino "Real Gritters"
3.) Rich the Factor & Rush Borda ft. Ampichino "Bigga Than Music"
4.) Ampichino ft. Rich the Factor & Boy Big "Bricks"
5.) Ampichino & Young Bossi ft. Rich the Factor & Boy Big "Fourtys"
6.) Skiem Hiem ft. Rich the Factor, Messy Marv, Matt Blaque, Ampichino & Young Bossi "Married to the Game"
7.) Boy Big ft. Rich the Factor, Ampichino & Ren Fetti "Forever" (Boy Big's singing is pretty horrible on this song but it's still here for the sake of completeness)
8.) The Jacka & Ampichino ft. Rich the Factor, Boy Big & Fed-X "Pain"
9.) Hoodnutt ft. Ampichino, Rich the Factor & Boy Big "Real Bosses"

If you know of any other songs these two have done together then let me know and I will add it to the mix.

UPDATE: 9th track, "Real Bosses", added to the mix. Thanks Matt.

Hopefully Ampichino and Rich the Factor actually do drop an album together some time in the future. More new songs from them would be dope and honestly they deserve a better album cover than the one I made for them.

Have a good weekend. Here is a surfing dog gif:

  1. Amaze! Great cover! Maybe compare with time of flights and transits to/from studio/mansions of said rappers/airports so we can get a better picture of the whole distance thing and how big of problem it is for them to make this album happen. (I'd honestly appreciate that)

    1. I will get my logistics team on it immediately.

  2. I know that is a favourite pastime of rappers to announce projects and never release them but I honestly think that Ampi is waiting for the [comparatively] high exposure of the Regime projects before releasing his own.
It's a smart move...that shit is being promoted by Strange Music to its massive fanbase and should expose Amp's mob to a much wider audience...a lame audience of Technicians/Juggalos but an audience still....

    1. I had no idea that the Regime album was being promoted by Strange Music, but it makes sense...

  3. They did a song together with hoodnutt and boy big called real bosses. If they ever have an album it will be sweet because boy big wont be on every song

    1. I hadn't heard this song before, that's a dope track. Thanks for letting me know, I've added it to the mix.

Agreed that it would be nice to hear more Amp and Rich and less Boy Big.
