Hi Thomas,
Firstly I have to reluctantly admit that this is the best christmas album cover i've ever seen. I did try to find a better one on google images in an attempt to claim plaudits for myself but it was futile.

Secondly, I really dig Rich the Factor and I live in the UK where probably about 3 people know of his existence. I was introduced to his music through his many appearances on releases from the Bay and Akron. I wonder if i'm one of the furthest people from KC to regularly listen to his music....hmmmm.

Thirdly, I have to agree with your sentiment about the overly self-aware and trend conscious nature of much current rap music. I find little to like in any of it and that is also one of the reasons why I love music from the Bay. The Bay also has a quite insular scene in which local rappers and producers regularly collaborate, put each other on and keep a relatively cohesive, regional sound removed from trends.

Well done for pushing Rich's music through your blog; I will enjoy this comp.
